I want to use today's blog as an opportunity to give props to a musician who is doing so much good for society in so many ways, yet it goes unnoticed to damn near everyone. Jason Mraz's life revolves around doing what is right for the environment and the people of this world. Well, it revolves around music too of course, he is a outstanding musician for those who do know know of him.. Just two days ago he took a 24 hour vow of silence in order to acknowledge the millions of oppressed children around the world who have no rights, therefor no voice to save them. Interesting. He is currently on a plastic free tour, where no plastic will be used by him or any of his crew. Mraz is setting great examples for the rest of us each and every day, he is dedicated in really making this place better, so those the future can enjoy the same luxuries we do.
To learn more about Mraz and his eco-friendly lifestyle, including a daily journal(that I read),
CLICK HERE This subject brings up a "Secret" that I came across in a morning grog about a month ago. It read "Nature gives up everything that we could ever need in order to live and be happy, yet it never asks for anything in return. Now that is true giving." I admit sometimes I read over some of the"Secrets" and don't take them in as much as I should, but this one really stuck out, and made an impression on me. We have to treat this place we live with care, I thought to myself. It won't be around forever, but the better we sustain it, the longer it will stay kickin'.
Take the trees, or the lake that you swim in during the summertime, shit anything really just look around you, there there are so many great things that we all, including myself, take for granted and never really think about. Until NOW! Since the "Secret" and reading about Mraz's small acts of greatness, I have really been thinking about my actions and how they will ultimately effect the environment. If you know me, you know I always used to leave the water on when I brushed my teeth and all that. I know there are a lot more of you "water runners" out there. I know I am not alone. Lately, I have really been conscious about things like that. Now I turn the water off! ha and continue to do many other small acts to protect this place.
This finally brings me back to Jason Mraz. The tactics he continues to practice are just small scale, but the effects of them can go a long ways. Meaning if we all just do something small, nothing to complex at all, it will have BIG effects on a global scale that will keep this earth, that gives and gives, beautiful. So Go Green! Why not right? It feels good to know that you are doing something for the better for the environment and the people of the world. I feels better to look around and really appreciate what you see and to be thankful for all of it.
Here is a list of little things you can do to contribute:
-Turn lights off when not using.
-Save as much shower water as possible.
-Pick up any noticeable trash and toss it.
-Try out a hybrid if you thinking about buying.
-Keep beaches and oceans clean
-Recycle
-Wear dirty underwear.(jk)
There are not many here, I did not want to overwhelm, but try to check out a few of them if you can. Trust me, it is an awesome feeling to really be thankful and appreciative for the greatness around us. (Neat Mraz song I attached)
